Technical information

The new model of DoubleSense is the most reliable and high performing double sheet
detector on the market today. Not only is the sensor easier to install than most sensors, but
it is also fully automatic to operate. The new model handles thicker material and coloured
paper print with the high security level required in a paper process today.


DoubleSense detects sheets by sending invisible infrared light through the paper. Using an
advanced algorithm the sensor “scans” and processes opacity (light reduction) data from the
entire sheet before it signals the paper status to the machine.


The calibration procedure is fully automatic and needs no manual operation. The sensor
calibrates when a sheet is fed completely through the sensor at normal machine speed.
DoubleSense can also detect a missing sheet, a missing layer, paper jam, paper present and
time related errors.
