Introduction
The MicOne is handcrafted in Sweden. Built and developed by engineers for engineers! The all tube, multi pattern microphone uses the very best components available on the market today. The mic employs a 1,25" gold diaphragm and a selected EF86 pentode tube. The MicOne is a true variable-pattern microphone, capable of doing omni, cardioid and figure-of-eight. This is achieved by polarizing the front and back diaphragm of the capsule in different ways with respect to the centre electrode. The sound of the MicOne can be described as smooth, accurate, fast, tight, natural. Favourite applications have turned out to be vocals, acoustic guitar, guitar cabs, piano and drum overheads. The MicOne can easily handle high SPL without any signs of distortion.

Setting the mic pattern

Settings example

by Tobias Lindell

Vocals

A good starting point is cardioid, adjust the setting to taste. If you want the sound a touch smoother and fatter, turn the knob a tad anticlockwise.
Acoustic Guitar

If you want a little more of your room in your recording, start with 80% omni. If you desire a warmer and closer sound, turn the knob anticlockwise slowly until you reach satisfaction.
Piano

A good starting point is cardioid, adjust the setting to taste. If you want the sound a touch smoother and fatter, turn the knob a tad anticlockwise.
Drum

The mic sounds great on overheads! Start with cardioid to get a natural and punchy reproduction. If you desire and brighter and forward sound, try fig.8
